BMKG Deputy for Meteorology, Mulyono Rahadi Prabowo, said that vigilance was prioritized on 20-22 December 2018. It was estimated that during that period there would be heavy rain in several regions.

As a result, the potential for heavy rain will occur in the areas of West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Bangka Belitung Islands, Banten, West Java, Central Java, West Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.
"People are encouraged to remain vigilant and be careful of the impacts that can be caused such as floods, landslides, flash floods, inundations, strong winds, fallen trees and slippery roads," Mulyono said at the BMKG office, Jakarta, (17/12).

The BMKG also highlights the potential for an increase in the flow of people who travel and travel. People who use sea transportation modes are asked to be aware of the potential for high waves in the next few days.
